* Nimetus: Sound of Silence
Kirjeldus: The Concept

‘At its simplest, we may conceive of music as the relationship between sounds and the silence that surrounds them.’

How music is made depends fundamentally on its relationship to silence. Music emerges from silence.
The Creation of places depends fundamentally on their relationship to infinite space (no place) Places emerge from infinity.
‘The Sound of Silence is a representation of the music of Arvo Part. Part’s music points towards the spiritual basis of our existence in all its frailty and potential beauty. The Sound of Silence appropriates this sentiment and expresses it through a combination of material spaces to create a place that at once provides a venue for, and a physical crystallisation of the music of Arvo Part.
